FRIENDS OF CALLAHAN CHAMPION 10-MINUTE PLAY FESTIVAL
MAY 21 AT THE CALLAHAN CENTER
May 13, 2026 – Framingham, Mass. — From comedy and drama to romantic comedy, a talented cast of older adults will perform six short plays Thursday, May 21 at 2 p.m.at the Callahan Center. Sponsored by the Friends of Callahan, $10 tickets for the performance will be available at the door.
According to Mary Megall, president of the Friends, ticket proceeds will help sustain and expand the theater program. “Interest in the performance arts appears to be quickly expanding at the Callahan, especially under the adept direction of Programs Manager Teri Shea, who herself has a long, dedicated background in theater,” Megill said.
She went on to explain that all roles – from directing each play, acting, choreography, set design, sound, costumes and more were undertaken by a Callahan participant.
The 10-Minute Play Festival is just one part of Senior Week May 18-22 at the Callahan which will be hosting a range of events to celebrate the lifelong learning and continued engagement of older adults.
The mission of the Friends of Callahan is to raise funds for the Callahan Center and sponsor many programs that are not covered in the center’s budget. Friends celebrated its 50th year associated with the Callahan Center in 2026.
